As fate would have it, Milwaukee actor and playwright Jeffrey James Ircink approached Jim Sorenson about possibly screening Ircink’s short film “Pass the Salt, Please” at the Horny Goat Hideaway.
The Horny Goat just so happens to be trying to distinguish itself as an entertainment venue in addition to a brewing company, said Sorenson, who’s managing partner and chief executive of the Horny Goat.
One thing led to another, and this weekend, March 2 and 3, Horny Goat will host The Really Funny Horny Goat International Short Film Festival.
Ircink’s film alone has international credentials, appearing in festivals in Sydney, Warsaw, London, Dublin, Chicago, Austin, Los Angeles as well as here in Milwaukee.
“We’ll be showing the films in our heated tent,” Sorenson said. “It’ll help to remind people that warm weather’s right around the corner.”
Screenings begin promptly at 8 p.m. both nights. The Master of Ceremonies will be Tim Higgins. Tickets are $10 at the door, at 2011 S. 1st St., or in advance at www.hornygoatbeergear.com.
